Yesterday was one such opportunity.

At MoGen Expo 2026, I stepped into the Torus Motion stall to explore their axial flux motor solutions.

Had an insightful conversation with  Vignesh Manimaran.

What impressed me most was their ability to deliver higher power density while keeping costs comparable to today's mainstream motor technologies.

I personally felt that Axial flux technology deserve more attention. 🚛⚡.

🎯 Why Axial flux  matters

Higher torque.


Smaller package.


Better space utilization.


Higher drivetrain efficiency.


Strong potential for commercial vehicles.

🎯 The challenges

Cooling remains difficult.


Manufacturing needs high precision.


Cost is still higher.


Large-scale production is limited.

I have spent most of my career working on radial flux motors.

That makes axial flux technology even more interesting to me.

It can create new possibilities.

Especially where packaging matters.


Or where every kilogram counts.

As manufacturing scales, costs can reduce.

That could accelerate adoption.

The coming years will be exciting for motor engineers.
