India’s R&D story is getting real.
I was just going through Anand Mahindra’s recent post… and honestly, this caught my attention.
From 56 patents in FY16 to 1,334 in FY26.
That’s not growth. That’s acceleration.
And a 65%+ conversion rate?

That means ideas are actually turning into real products.
Mahindra Group also has 2,700+ filings in the pipeline.
Feels like something bigger is happening here in Technology developments.
India is slowly shifting from adapting tech… to building it.
Not long ago, we were known for cost efficiency. Now we’re building IP.
And if this trend continues, we’re just getting started 🚀
I personally feel this is how ecosystems evolve. Quietly. Then suddenly.
Are we finally seeing India become an innovation-first economy?
